The Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled and Representative William L. Crocker Jr. will host a workshop on preparing for emergencies such as blizzards, hurricanes or man-made disasters March 16 at 2 PM at CORD’s office, 106 Bassett Lane, Hyannis. The workshop will be presented by the Massachusetts Office on Disability .

People with disabilities, family members, service providers and first responders will learn about local emergency resources, procedures and steps to take during an emergency. People with disabilities who register by March 12 will receive an emergency go-pack with items that might be needed during an emergency. First responders will receive a copy of “Tips for First Responders on How to Interact with People with Disabilities in Times of Emergency.”

Register by March 12 by calling CORD at 508-775-8300. This is a scent-free event; participants should not wear scented products to this workshop.
