Cathy joined CORD as a member, became a volunteer and was hired on December 8, 1997. As the mother of a young child with disabilities, she wanted to make the world a better place for him as he grew up and CORD was the perfect place to make a difference. Cathy is now the Director of Services and loves her role of fighting for disability rights, improving services and guiding staff as they work fiercely to help others.
Robyn Simmons

Robyn Simmons has worked in non-profit Financial Management since 1994. Her roles include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, agency and contract budget preparation, contract billing and grants management and compliance. She has worked for many non-profit organizations over the last 30 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends including her husband Paul and cat Walter.

Amy joined CORD in 2023 and has since enjoyed learning about what it takes to provide services to those with disabilities on the Cape and Islands. As Office Manager, Amy strives to support our staff and provide solutions to help our advocates reach goals! She loves seeing all the programs, workshops, and events CORD offers.

Jessica joined CORD in June 2021 as an advocate in the Independent Living Program. Jessica had been working with individuals with disabilities in various group homes for 20 years. Over the years she came to learn the importance of advocacy for those who may not be able to do so for themselves and the empowerment it provides to them. Jessica now serves as the IL Program Manager and oversees a team of 5, she could not be prouder of the work they do and all that they help people accomplish.

Sheena joined CORD in 2025 and is excited to dive into advocacy. She is eager to learn about the people who benefit from CORD and the ways in which she can help them navigate life’s challenges. She enjoys the diversity of the client base and the opportunities that come with being involved in advocacy.

Alexa joined CORD in 2022 and is very passionate about helping individuals with disabilities here on the Cape Cod and Islands. What She likes most about her position at CORD is being able to truly assist consumers on their Independent Living Goals. Alexa is proud that she can personally identify with having multiple disabilities, which allows her to help, grow, and engage with her consumers and the community.

Karen joined CORD the end of 2023 as the new Transition Coordinator. She has found a new passion for advocacy! She loves supporting our elders and persons with disabilities throughout the often stressful, difficult process of returning to the community after being in an institutional setting. Karen loves the people she work with! They demonstrate on a daily basis the compassion shown by truly dedicated individuals, who’s only goal is to improve the quality of the lives of the consumers we have the privilege of serving! Shantal joined CORD in 2024 and has since enjoyed learning about what it takes to provide services to those with disabilities on the Cape and Islands. As Option Counselor, Shantal strives to help people with disability ages 18 years old or older, and elders over age 60! Shantal enjoys her job here at CORD especially being able to provide such wonderful services to people with disability and turn their worries into happiness!

Marissa comes to us with an educational background in social services, criminal justice and psychology. Marissa also has personal experience. She serves as our Senior Transition to Adulthood Program Advocate to help guide transition aged youth through similar circumstances. Marissa is a firm believer in teaching each individual about their rights so that they can achieve independence by learning how to advocate for themselves in different trials and tribulations that they may face in life.

Allie joined CORD June of 2024. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Disorders and has a Minor in Psychology. As a TAP Advocate, she enjoys working one on one to help individuals hit their goals. Allie loves being able to combine her passion and work ethic to help the community around her.

Patrick joined CORD in 2023. As a wheelchair user with cerebral palsy, Patrick has dedicated much of his life to disability advocacy, activism, and consultancy. Patrick’s firsthand experience living with a disability and initiatives has brought about systemic changes in disability awareness and inclusion. At CORD, as a Transition to Adulthood Program Advocate, Patrick continues his mission of educating youth about their rights in school and beyond, promising to support the community in which he was raised.

MacKenzie joined CORD July of 2023, an interesting fact about her is she is hard of hearing, and knows ASL (American Sign Language). As a WRAP Coordinator, she is learning new ways to help young consumers that have questions or concerns about employment, work readiness, and so much more! MacKenzie’s favorite part of working for CORD is the staff, and the event’s CORD puts on.
