CORD Mobile Food Pantry for July 2019
Food insecurity, the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food, is known to disproportionately affect households with members with disabilities. A subset of these households experience hunger, the more extreme form of food insecurity characterized by reduced intake of food, disrupted eating patterns, and the inability to afford to buy more food. Food insecurity is known to negatively affect the health of adults, and is a barrier for people with disabilities to achieve wellness.
CORD Mobile Food Pantry Mission: Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope
Our Mobile Food Pantry is designed to assist people with any disability who are experiencing food insecurity, however it is not meant to be your main source of food or to take the place of other food resources. To be eligible, a person in your household must have a disability.
Every month, CORD delivers non-perishable food items to predesignated locations around Cape Cod. The schedule is normally mailed to participants and can also found on our website. For more information or to register, contact CORD at 508-775-8300.
