DDS – Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services
DDS offers services for individuals with intellectual, developmental, and neurological conditions, including Autism Spectrum–related support needs, to broaden opportunities for meaningful involvement and promote fuller participation within their community life.
DMH – Massachusetts Department of Mental Health
As the State Mental Health Authority, DMH ensures access to mental-health services and supports for individuals of all ages, helping them live, work, and participate fully in their communities.
MASILC – Massachusetts Statewide Independent Living Council
MASILC is a Governor-appointed council composed of members who are knowledgeable about community-based support services and related statewide programs. Established by Executive Order No. 373 (1994), the Council includes representation from individuals with a broad range of lived experiences and functional or participation support needs across the Commonwealth’s diverse regions.
MCB – Massachusetts Commission for the Blind
MCB provides individualized training, education, and support for people who are legally blind, and advocates for policies that promote skill-building, personal autonomy, and full participation in community life.
MCDHH – Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
MCDHH delivers communication services, education, and advocacy for individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, helping ensure that programs, services, and opportunities throughout Massachusetts support full participation.
MOD – Massachusetts Office on Disability (Client Assistance Program – CAP)
MOD’s Client Assistance Program provides information and advocacy for individuals seeking Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services from MassAbility or MCB, or community-based support services from local community organizations. CAP informs applicants of their rights and responsibilities and offers advocacy and appeals support to help individuals obtain the services for which they qualify.
MassAbility – Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC)
MassAbility provides services aimed at removing barriers and expanding opportunities for individuals with access or functional needs. Their programs focus on employment, training, community-based supports, and the determination of eligibility for federal benefit programs.
