Mary*, a 17-year-old high school student with autism, wanted to get her learner’s permit. She had seen a flier for CORD’s Driving to Success, a learner’s permit preparation course, but was unable to attend due to sports practice, school and work. CORD, Mary and her high school worked together to set an online schedule during school hours so Mary could receive one-on-one skills training. In addition to prepping for the learner’s permit exam, Mary learned how to request reasonable accommodations for the test.
