INDEPENDENT LIVING (IL) PROGRAM

Empowering Independence

If you experience access or functional barriers and do not need one of our specialized programs, CORD’s awesome advocates can still work with you — including children and youth of all ages. Whether you need support with housing, benefits, assistive technology, employment, or addressing discrimination, we are here for you.

Across all CORD programs, we believe every person has the right to direct their own life. You have the right to try, the right to succeed, the right to struggle, and the right to try again. Just like everyone else does — and we are here to support you every step of the way.

INDEPENDENT LIVING/VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION (IL/VR) PROGRAM

Achieve Your Goals

Through our IL/VR partnership program, CORD staff works closely with the Hyannis area office of the MassAbility to support individuals receiving MassAbility services in reaching their personal goals for daily living, community participation, and long-term stability.

By offering peer support and skills training in areas such as financial management, benefits navigation, applying for transportation services, and completing housing applications, participants gain greater confidence, self-sufficiency, and overall stability. These tools help individuals strengthen their foundation for employment and expand their ability to direct their own lives.

Independent Living

Providing essential supports and services that strengthen daily living.

Guiding individuals in identifying housing options that fit their needs.

Providing resources to help understand available benefits.

Supporting youth as they transition to adult life.

Nursing Home Transition & Long-Term Care Options

Helping adults with access or functional needs, along with seniors, connect to long-term care services.

Community Services

Community workshops, training, and awareness education.
