Mobile Food Pantry May 2020
Food insecurity, the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food, is known to disproportionately affect households with members with disabilities. A subset of these households experience hunger, the more extreme form of food insecurity characterized by reduced intake of food, disrupted eating patterns, and the inability to afford to buy more food. Food insecurity is known to negatively affect the health of adults, and is a barrier for people with disabilities to achieve wellness.
Our Mobile Food Pantry is designed to assist people with any disability who are experiencing food insecurity, however it is not meant to be your main source of food or to take the place of other food resources. To be eligible, a person in your household must have a disability.
Every month, CORD delivers non-perishable food items to predesignated locations around Cape Cod. The schedule is normally mailed to participants and can also found on our website. For more information or to register, contact CORD at 508-775-8300 (V/TTY).
May 2020 Locations, Dates and Times
Due to COVID-19 CORD’s Mobile Food Pantry has changed the way we disperse food. We will only be giving out pre-bagged food. The bags will be placed in a common area at each site for pick up. For your safety and the safety of our staff and volunteers please do not gather to wait for the bus. We are leaving extra bags at each stop so there will be plenty of food. The bus will drop the food on the assigned day between 10-2pm. The food is non-perishable and will be fine if you can’t get it right away. We are unable to take any returns. If you have questions please call our office 508-775-8300 (V/TTY). Thank you for understanding as we try to keep everyone safe.
Times are approximate. Please be patient if the bus is running late. Thank you!
