Eviction Notice

Denise and her daughter both had disabilities and were evicted from their home by their landlord who falsely accused Denise of violating her lease. Unsure of what to do, Denise contacted CORD and was referred to our Transition Coordinator, Jeri DiCostanzo, who was able to help her advocate for her tenant rights.

Jeri helped Denise advocate for herself through having Denise compile documentation to prove the landlord’s claims were false. This documentation helped her immensely in court.

During her mediation, Denise was able to prove the landlord’s charges were false. She also received a commitment from the landlord that he would provide a good reference for her moving forward so she could apply for another rental property without penalty.
