Program Requirements


Students must enroll with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) before beginning TIP and must be referred by their VR counselor or have the approval of their VR counselor


Individuals under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian's permission to enroll in TIP


Students must possess appropriate identification such as a Social Security card, birth certificate, state ID, or student ID in order to complete government forms


Individuals must agree to undergo a CORI check through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts


Individuals must attend all skills training sessions sponsored by CORD


Students must be willing to work a specific set schedule

CORD prepares youth aged 16-21 for their first work experience through training sessions and a paid internship in the community. Training topics include:


  • effective communication
  • interview techniques
  • completing applications
  • appropriate co-worker interactions
  • resume-building
  • and much more!

Transitional Internship Program

Who is Eligible?


Students who are ...


  • currently attending high school and on an IEP or 504 Plan;
  • committed to working a paid internship;
  • committed to attending pre-employment skills training; and
  • have no meaningful prior work experience.
